NOTE TO RETURNING FAMILIES: If your child is not currently enrolled with IDEA (for example, if you withdrew from IDEA for a while), the instructions below don’t apply to you. Instead, you’ll need to enroll them as a new student by visiting the enrollment page.
If your child is enrolled with IDEA for the current school year and you’d like to continue with IDEA for the upcoming school year, please follow the instructions below.
Re-Enrollment Instructions for Currently Enrolled Families
- Visit our PowerSchool Parent Portal.
- Log in using your IDEA family username and password (unless you have changed them previously). Don’t include @ideafamilies.org in your username.
- If PowerSchool prompts a password reset, your new password must be at least 8 characters long and must be different than your previous password.
- If you have any issues, please reach out to your local IDEA Technician or submit a tech support ticket.
- Once you’ve logged in, select the student from the tabs along the top of the page.
- Select the Re-Enrollment 202x–202x icon on the bottom left side.
- Review all information for accuracy.
- Repeat these steps for each student in your family.
- You’re done! Thanks for re-enrolling!

When I reset my password for the PowerSchool Parent Portal, does it also change my FAST and IDEA email password?
No, this password change only impacts the Parent Portal.
What if I make a mistake?
You may navigate using “< Prev” and “Next >” buttons to make edits on any page. On the review page, click on the underlined field.
What if I notice something inaccurate after I’ve already submitted?

The Submit button won’t work. What’s wrong?
There is likely required information missing. You’ll need to review previous pages to make sure you’ve answered all questions marked with an asterisk.
What if I have more than one student in IDEA?
You will only need to log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal once—where you can re-enroll all your students in the same place. We suggest you complete and submit one form at a time.
