General Orientation 2-3:30 PMhttps://www.ideafamilies.org/events/region-f/event/general-orientation-2-330-pm/
I encourage you to attend a General Orientation as soon as possible. I present the General Orientations. You will learn about ordering materials, filling out your Individual Learning Plan (ILP), Progress Reports (PR) and navigating the IDEA website. Plus a question and answer period. It is best if you attend without children however if you need to bring them I will have coloring and activity pages for them. They can sit quietly with you and enjoy doing some art work. Here are the dates and times for General Orientation. Please note that some of these are in the evening (no need to sign up – just come when you can) at the IDEA office
High School Orientation 1-3 PMhttps://www.ideafamilies.org/events/region-f/event/high-school-orientation-1-3-pm/
If you have a high schooler then we highly encourage you to also attend a High School Orientation. It is more advantageous to attend a General Orientation prior to attending a High School Orientation. These are presented by IDEA Contact Teachers for High School. The content is totally different and pertains to high school and includes: How to prep and apply for some scholarships, what types of courses and what “track” to follow depending on your goals: college, trade school or work force entry. You will learn how you can earn high school credit for doing volunteer work (Service Learning) or by working a part time job (Work Study). You will also learn how you can take college courses in high school and earn both high school and college credit for them. No need to sign up for these. Just come as soon as you can and bring your high schoolers with you if possible.
